Oil Worker from Tunis

Five years ago when I was traveling through Tunisia, I was waiting in an airport across from an oil worker who agreed to let me sketch a quick portrait of him.

He was a very nice man and seemed to enjoy having his portrait drawn.

I always have to throw away my first sketch when I a draw a portrait from a photograph or from a real person because the eyes of the subject are always too close. Would you know which bad habit might cause this? Or is this just something that will correct itself over time?

Hi, Streets.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by the eyes being too close, but I definitely agree with the idea of trying again and again to get the face right. I almost never get it the first time.
